UNDERSTANDING BASIC FLOOD RECOVERY PROCEDURES explains some of the procedures that may need to be carried out to recover flooded property and should give victims a better understanding of what to expect from professional contractors. This can help to make the experience less stressful.
The RECORD OF FLOOD RECOVERY ACTIVITY and PERSONALLY APPOINTED CONTRACTORS will allow victims to keep a record of work carried out by contractors they have appointed directly. This enables them to satisfy themselves the recovery of their property is progressing satisfactorily. A competent professional contractor will be happy to provide the information requested, so the document can also help to deter unscrupulous workmen. There is space to record contact details for a contractor the victim has appointed. | The ELECTRICAL SAFETY COUNCIL has produced a booklet with advice on dealing with electrical supplies after flooding and other useful information.
