STANDARD CARE PRACTICES

Practices that are common to reasonably prudent members of the trade who are recognized in the industry as qualified and competent.


STAPHYLOCOCCUS

(staph) – A highly resistant, gram-positive pathogenic (disease-causing) organism that is used in the evaluation of disinfectants.

STREPTOCOCCUS

(strep) – A genus of highly resistant, nonmotile, gram-positive, nonspore-forming pathogenic (disease causing) cocci that is used in the evaluation of disinfectants.


STRINGER

Any horizontal timber which connects and supports posts or other framing members, such as floor framing or stairs.


STRIP

1. Material which is long and narrow, usually of uniform width;2. to damage the threads on a nut or bolt; 3. to remove a finish or coating down to the base material.
