Objectives

The course aims to provide delegates with a basic knowledge of building construction in the United Kingdom that will reinforce their existing skills and enhance their ability to deliver professional damage management solutions

Content

The course will provide information on general construction techniques and building materials that practitioners may encounter and how they affect the technician’s approach to dealing with water and fire damage.
Content will include reference to construction methods, recognising different types of materials, types of walls, floors and roofs, damp proofing and basic electrical and plumbing information.
There will be an emphasis on awareness of recovery best practice and the BDMA Construction Manual will be referenced.
